Protect and thrive in a time of environmental, economic, social collapse.
Relative to the Western World, North Americans (much more so US Citizens then Canadians) receive the lowest benefit from the wonders our system has produced. Us workers and I mean that broadly (95% of population) seem to vote against our interests and truly believe the unfettered free market is good for them. The benefit of the last 40 years of progress in North America just goes to the wealthy. I have a theory: after WW II they needed to keep the soldiers happy…(or else) as the motivated veterans were not going back to the gilded age. Then we had the alternative of Soviet Communism threat until the 90’sAfter Communism fell they now longer needed even a pretense of fairness to workers. We have this fantasy that our interests and the interests of the super rich are the same, like somehow the rich will eventually get so full that they'll explode, and the candy will rain down on the rest of us, like they're some sort of pinata of benevolence. But here's the thing about a pinata, it doesn't open on it's own, you have to beat it with a stick. - Bill Maher
