Peak Stocks?

The following chart shows total stock market capitalization as a percent of GDP.

Based on this measure, the value of the stock market is near a historic high.

The last two times the market got to this point were before the tech bubble implosion (2000-2002) and the global financial crisis (2008-2009).

History also shows that 10yr forward equity returns have a big negative correlation to the proportion of the stock market to GDP. Current levels imply a forward anualized return of about 3%. Not a compelling reason to hold stocks right now. Indeed, this is just another indicator showing the 'everything bubble' is nearing its demise.

“Carbon neutral” is not enough: Ecosia has built its own solar plants

Ecosia is an Internet search engine based in Berlin, Germany, that plants trees by donating 80% or more of its surplus income to non-profit organizations that focus on reforestation and conservationism. Ecosia considers itself a social business, is CO2-negative, claims to support full financial transparency, protects the privacy of its users, and is certified by B-Lab as a benefit corporation. The website maintains a running total of the number of trees planted. According to their website, as of 30 July 2019, the search engine had been responsible for the planting of more than 63 million trees.
